The Top Two Reasons to Explore Extracurricular Activities

While focusing on school work, including classes and assignments, is essential, it is also important to get involved at school. In this week's blog post, we'll discuss the benefits of extracurricular activities and how they can lead to student success!

So, what are the benefits of participating in extracurricular activities? Well, here are two essential reasons

Self-improvement: Getting involved with Extracurricular activities gives you the opportunity for self-growth and improvement. You can get involved in any activity, sports, arts, music, etc. You don't necessarily have to be good at these things; you can join anything that piques your interest and learn as you go. Getting involved will help you learn teamwork, time management, and leadership skills which will help you gain both academic and student success. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to explore and learn about your personal likes and dislikes and you will learn how to invest time and effort into the things you enjoy doing.

Friendships: When you participate in extracurriculars, you will eventually meet people who share your interests as well. Resonating with others due to your shared interests and goals is an excellent foundation for creating long-lasting friendships. School can become stressful, finding people who can resonate with your feelings and understand you can be a great way to push through any stress you are facing, inside or outside of school.

These are just two reasons as to why participating in Extracurriculars can be beneficial to you, although there are a plethora of other reasons as well. What are some other reasons you can think of as to why getting involved with Extracurriculars are important? Feel free to comment! Ask your school how you can get involved and what kinds of clubs are available to you, attend club fairs at your school if they are available! Remember though, quality is more important than quantity. Try to be present and involved with the clubs and Extracurriculars you do decide to join. Getting involved can be very fulfilling, don't forget to try to step out of your comfort zone, you never know, you just might find something you really enjoy!

Have fun!
